The Aggie Tradition

As one young Aggie prepares for her upcoming Freshmen year at Texas A&M, another one gets a step closer to saying goodbye…

I went to my new student conference (freshmen orientation) yesterday and today and at the same time my sister (4 years older than me) ordered her Aggie ring! If you have not heard about the traditions at Texas A&M than you need to look them up. This university is known for its traditions and the Aggie ring is one of the most important. The ring is a symbol of the Aggie Network which connects Aggies all over the world. It also represents excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect, and selfless service.

This is why it was such an honor to be with my sister as she ordered her ring which she will receive in the fall. A student must have 90+ hours to order their rings and once they graduate they turn the emblem to face the world. It’s the little things like this (and the 5000 other traditions) which make it stand out more than the rest. I am unbelievably excited to start school here next fall and I know that I could not have picked a better university to spend my next four years.

Thanks and GIG’EM!!!
